“Taphead" is the first single from Splashgirl's forthcoming album "More Human", a collaboration with vocalist/sound artist Robert AikiAubrey Lowe and producer Randall Dunn. The song was recorded at Ocean Sound Recordings in Giske and at Circular Ruin Studio in New York. This marks Splashgirl's first release of a song not self-written -the cover issourcedfrom Talk Talk's "Laughing Stock" (1991). The band's "Spirit of Eden" (1988) served as a guiding star throughout the project, and the suggestion to cover this specific song came from producer Dunn midway through the studio session. The thematic thread of the album gradually became more apparent during recording, and it quickly became evident that going straight to the source was the right move. Talk Talk's final album is characterized by meticulous sound assembly, detailed sound production, and a sense of inviting the listener into a sonic world where the band dictates the rules, a description that also applies to many of Splashgirl's albums.
